About Warwick Dumpster Rental Group
Locally owned, over 12 years in, and we know the county's debris rules, Rhode Island's open-burning rules, the tarped-load requirement, the run to the RIRRC Central Landfill, and the sandy glacial ground that shapes every Warwick job.

How this started
Rick Almeida had worked construction and hauling around Warwick and the Narragansett Bay region for years when he started the company with a single truck and one container in 2013. He'd spent long enough on job sites to know exactly what went wrong with dumpsters: containers that turned up late or in the wrong size, prices that changed once the load crossed a scale, and out-of-town haulers who didn't know the run to the Johnston landfill, Rhode Island's rules on burning, how the sandy glacial ground and deep winter frost heave a driveway, or how a severe summer storm fills a job with debris overnight.
The idea was simple: run it like a Warwick outfit that actually knows Warwick. More than a decade in, the operating principle hasn't moved: tell people the truth about what they need, protect the property, keep the job clean, know exactly where the debris goes, and charge the number that was quoted.
What we actually do differently
We know the local rules and where the debris goes. In Warwick the curbside carts from the city's collection won't take construction debris, Rhode Island won't let you burn it, and a licensed facility is where it goes - so a real project's debris goes covered to the RIRRC Central Landfill on Shun Pike in Johnston, with refrigerant appliances, tires, electronics and paint routed to the right place, and clean metal and concrete kept separate for recycling or reuse. We know the run and the county programs cold, and we keep the job clean and compliant. On the day, that's the whole job.
We recommend smaller containers. This one surprises people. Dense material - concrete, broken slab, tile and heavy demo - reaches a container's tonnage allowance while it still looks half empty. Recommending the 15 yard instead of the 20, or a dedicated 10 for the concrete, costs us revenue and saves the customer money. We do it anyway.
We're built for a coastal New England city and Rhode Island's seasons. Warwick is the second-largest city in Rhode Island and the commercial heart of Kent County - so much of the work is remodels and tear-outs in the established postwar and colonial neighborhoods, waterfront and estate turnovers, and steady renovation across the thirty-odd bay-shore villages - bulky and dense debris both - and Nor'easter, coastal-storm and hard-winter cleanup is a way of life here, not an exception. When a storm rolls through and the whole area needs containers at once, being a local crew is what lets us respond - and we size a storm container to the mixed debris and get it out fast.
One number, tarped loads. The flat rate covers delivery, the rental period, collection, the disposal and a stated tonnage allowance, with the overage rate quoted in the same breath. And every load leaves tarped and secured for the haul, as Rhode Island law requires. No fuel surcharge, no environmental fee appearing on an invoice for the first time.
Why local knowledge matters here
Warwick is the second-largest city in Rhode Island and the commercial heart of Kent County - a coastal peninsula on Narragansett Bay wrapped by 39 miles of shoreline and more than thirty villages, home to T.F. Green International Airport and the historic civic village of Apponaug, with established postwar and colonial neighborhoods and a waterfront in steady reinvestment, while the communities around it - West Warwick, Cranston, Johnston - feed the same steady work. That mix shapes the jobs: remodels and tear-outs of the older homes, new-construction and addition debris, estate and rental turnovers, and after every Nor'easter or hard winter, storm cleanup. And nearly every job that moves earth hits the rolling glacial ground here - glacial till and sandy coastal soils over bedrock, threaded with coves and salt marshes and a high water table in the low spots - and the deep New England frost line that heaves driveways and slabs with every freeze-thaw.
Then there's the regulatory reality that shapes all of it: construction debris being barred from the curbside carts, Rhode Island's ban on burning trash and building debris statewide - with a Warwick Fire Department permit required even to burn brush - the requirement that C&D go to a licensed facility, the reuse of clean concrete and brick as clean fill, the recovery of clean metal, wood and cardboard, the ban on burning treated lumber, and the tarped-load requirement on every haul. A company that works the system every day knows all of it. We quote each job on what it actually is, and we'll explain the difference if you want to hear it.
The people you'll deal with
- Rick Almeida — Owner & Founder. Years in local construction and hauling before starting the company. Still takes sizing calls, particularly on anything involving concrete, heavy broken-slab demo, demolition or a tricky placement on an older lot.
- Steve Petrarca — Operations Manager. Runs the schedule, the swaps and the contractor and property-management accounts, and knows which runs across Kent County a loaded truck can and can't make in a day. If you need a same-day swap, he's the one who makes it happen.
- Kevin Sylvia — Lead Driver. Has been placing containers on Warwick's newer neighborhoods and tight established driveways for years and sizes a load by eye better than most. If he says a 30 won't fit your lot, it won't.
- Diana Botelho — Customer Care Lead. First voice on the phone most mornings, and the person who will walk you through the local rules, what can and can't go in the container, and where the electronics, tires, appliances and brush need to go.
